Novi Pazar features different cultural events and attractions throughout the year, from live music performances to theater shows.

Cultural Center: For information on concerts, theater performances, and other events at the Novi Pazar Cultural Center (Kulturni Centar Novi Pazar), visit http://www.kcnovipazar.com/ or find them on Facebook. The Cultural Center is located in the center of the city off of Gradski Trg. The center holds rotating arts and culture exhibitions, including photography, painting, and crafts by local artists. In addition, the center features a large theater that shows different local plays and newly released movies. Located within the Cultural Center, you can find the Turkish Kemal Ataturk Cultural Center and the American Corner, which offer language classes, literature, magazines, movies, and more and host occasional special events.

National Library: The city’s National Library “Dositej Obradović,” which was founded in 1947, is located in the city park and features over 90,000 books. For information on events at the library, visit http://biblioteka-np.org.rs/.

Ras Museum (Muzej Ras): The Ras Museum on occasion holds special cultural events and exhibitions that highlight the city’s artistic and historic heritage. To get more information, find them on Facebook.

Musical events: Novi Pazar hosts the annual Stari Grad music festival every August, featuring different musicians and performers. Additionally, the city holds other regular music and dance festivals throughout the year, including the Festival of Sandžak Sevdalinka (FESS) (Festival Sandžačke sevdalinke), the Festival of Youth Choirs of Serbia (FOHS) (Festival omladinskih horova Srbije), and the children’s festival “Voice of Spring” (Raspevano proleće).

Sporting events: A variety of different sporting events that feature both traditional and modern sports take place in Novi Pazar throughout the year. The most popular sporting events in the city are games by the city’s local football club, FK Novi Pazar, which holds games in the city’s stadium by the intersection of Velika Vlahovića and Oslobođenje. The city’s basketball team holds games in the Pendik, the indoor stadium located in the western part of the city’s recreational center. Other events include the Sandžak Games (Sandžačke Igre), the Festival of Bošniak Folk Games (Festival bošnjačkih narodnih igara) the Ramadan Street Race (Ramazanska ulica trka), the competition Memorial “Safet Mavrić Cako,” and the Ramadan Football Tournament (Ramazanski turnir u malom fudbalu).
